Senator Jon Tester’s “Forest Jobs and Recreation Act” (often called “Tester’s wilderness bill”) caused a big stir when it was revealed on July 17, 2009.
Although it had no direct North Fork connection, the projects in the proposed bill were the thin edge of the wedge. Tester was proposing a fairly basic change in the way the Forest Service works with all local communities.
